competitive analysis: black ops 2
Throughout my internship with twofifteen mccann, I had the opportunity to work with plethora of clients, but my focus was with Xbox. And Xbox’s biggest project at the time was Halo 4. But Halo 4 wasn’t the only blockbuster first-person shooter releasing this holiday season. And as the strategy intern, I created a completive deep dive on Call of Duty: Black Ops II.
The deck saw multiple revisions with each one geared more toward what would best benefit the client. From there I looked at things that made BO2 different and successful.
I learned two things: the Call of Duty franchise has a specific formula it sticks to and it is eager to explore the social world. So eager, in fact, that Black Ops II created content specifically for social media. And that content drove parts of the campaign.
